Work has been continuing at a great pace,
The under floor heating was laid (and then relaid when they realised the join was in the wrong place, oh - and Tom googled how to lay underfloor heating!),
The concrete shelf was removed from the cupboard,
and the new water tank installed
The ceiling came down again for the plumber to run the hot water pipes,

Then the floor screed was laid, and we weren't allowed to walk on it overnight - however nobody told Bert this (so we have a few paw prints) (21st July).

It was then time to plaster,
and plaster they did.....
I painted the larder cupboard

to this...

and Tom needed access to the garage - so went in the "back door", a new door is fitted just haven't got a photo yet.
Chris and Alan turned up to fit the conservatory, which now has 3/4 of a roof but no windows yet (chris filling me with confidence reading the instructions).

Simon and Andy ripped out the old kitchen, and then more plastering
The floor began to go down, and Leo helped with the sink (and wouldn't come out!) and the he and Boris tormented the Chickens
Painting for us at the weekend and building a kitchen - you never know - this time next week we may well be in the room!

Progess update:
I started pressure washing the Ivy from the front of the house at the weekend, it looks great, but is really hard work.

We decided last minute on Wednesday last week we were having underfloor heating, so I came home on Monday to find the floor gone,

and then Tuesday to find even more floor gone,

today the floor was being added again with the insulation down,

and then the screed onto - taken at 2.30pm today - it's coming along nicely.

So, building work progress so far....

19th of June - the foundations were dug

Tom got on a digger again and took the tree up from the front garden, and basically trashed it, but at least the stump is out (It's still on the front garden though)

23rd June -the insulation was delivered (thanks dad)

And the brickwork started on the conservatory base

Tom went shopping and bought a hedge cutter, and then actually used it!

The wall was bricked in between the lounge and dining room
and the steel put in place where half the kitchen used to be
30th June - the slab has been poured
and Bert wondered what on earth we were doing to his house
Alan and Chris came up to do the windows (not that they needed changing - we were thinking at least another 5 years with them!)

3rd July - the wall was built opposite the soon to be loo
and we lost a wall between the dining room and the outside world

and the veggie garden was going well, we got out first harvest of potatoes and the beds look great

7th July - came home to find the ceiling gone (but it's back up now)

The rubble pile went today (and Andy actually did some work)
the windows look great

A very open plan house

Just realised it has been a long while since I posted. My veggie patch is doing very well and we have had our first harvest of lettuce so far. We now have apond, but don't appear to have any fish - we put them in and haven;t seen them for 3 weeks now.

Big news is that the building work on our house has started - finally! A couple of photos below to show the progress so far.......

The chimney as gone and the roof weathered in,

chimney has gone on the top floor,

chimney has gone on the middle floor creating an uncoventinal ensuite,

one half of the kitchen has gone and a huge hole has appeared to the dining room,

The whole between the lounge and the dining room is about to disapear,

the patio has gone ready for foundations -all this in less than a week!

Oh - and I now have 8 chickens, all hybrids apart from good old Dhylis who is still going strong!
