Total eggs - 88 - Dhylis (star layer)
Just need to comment on yesterdays doh moment - remember the photo of OH pressure washing the eglu - well look what's in front of him on the washing line.......... yep - white washing - that was covered in lots of little brown spots - hence it's been washed again today!
Had a really nice lazy day today. The sun was shining up until about an hour ago, so we have sat in the garden reading the Sunday papers - the best way to spend a Sunday. I've nipped to Budgens to get supplies for dinner today - and OH has been to tesco to get some meat. BBQ turkey kebabs in my special marinade (Tomato sauce, branston pickle, soy sauce and a little bit of oil), which we are having with new potatoes and salad, and to start a salmon and king scallop kebab too. yum yum.
Girls have been out free ranging most of today - including Penny as we shut her out. She was fine until 4 hours after we shut her out she suddenly remember she needed to return to the empty nest - so she kept walking down and looking though the hole in the eglu - very sweet, but very silly chicken!

Total eggs = 87 - Dhylis x 2

I tried to update this yesterday, but blogger was down when I tried - so here goes for today.

The weather is fantastic, can't believe it is actually sunny at last - I've managed to do 2 loads of washing and actually hang it out on the line rather than tumble dry, or have clothes draped all over the house for a few days.

Boris and I had a lovely walk to the Mill today, then I mowed the lawn and hoovered the house. Then off to tesco for the weekly shop - and it was hell! I couldn't wait to leave - but we so needed food - as we were lazy and didn;t go last week. I'm glad I went though, as I bought 2 new bikinis for my holiday in 2 weeks time, a pink and white flowery one, and a black, pink and white flowery one. They sound awful, but are really nice.

OH, met me at Tesco, as he stayed in London after a really posh night out in London. After we put the shopping away, we sat in the garden and had tiger bread sandwiches. I've just read "Hen and the art of chicken maintenance" by Martin Gurdon - which was so funny. I got it from the omlet forum, it's being passed around all the owners - and we all sign the front. I'm going to fill the front page I think. It was a very very funny book, and some things he's written are so true. He's even got a chicken he called football - which is dhylis's other nickname along with number 1 digger. OH is reading t now as I was laughing so much!

So the girls have been out for most of the day now. Boris is on a lead - so we can have the doors open - and fingers crossed so far he's actually been quite well behaved.

Here's them sunbathing - Penny actually ventured out, and number 1 digger is in the flower bed doing what she does best!

So as they were all out, we cleaned the eglu, and sprayed the inside with lice treatment - so with the girls being sprayed on Thursday, and the house done now - they should be lice free.

Also - you can see my runner beans just growing. I stupidly prepared the veggie bed at the end of march as the weather was nice, but could plant anything until about 3 weeks ago!
